AMD’s plan appears to be pairing these with their Instinct GPU racks in a disaggregated architecture — GPUs handle prompt processing, Taalas chips handle token generation.

The catch is obvious: you’d better be absolutely certain about your model before you fab it. Weights in ROM mean no post-training updates without a new tape-out.
